It is early morning here - I saw your comment on MM's and came here - after a long long time. I am so thrilled and happy for you. Last night I came to know about Preethi's baby. And now yours. Really nice feeling. Look forward to all your baby posts. Your post on your mother was awesome. She really seems like a very sharp and capable person. So sad she passed away at a young age. She looks so alive and full of energy that it is even hard to believe she is not here any more.
And your painting - now both you and MM have inspired me to paint. I painted when I was pregnant with KB. Now after a long time I did window art on the glass doors leading to the yard - and of course my dear son wanted me to draw and paint dinosaurs with his window crayons. It is so much fun to do - even if I am no artist - the creative process is just so fulfilling. I hope you post more of your painting pics.
Welcome back to blogging. Write more in detail please...about the baby, how you feel etc.
Congratulations again!

Dear Inquisitive Akka,
Happy 35th b'day and heartiest congratulations on the baby. I remember you from my earliest blogging days, when you left lots of encouraging comments on my blog as I struggled with the Ph.D. and such. I have followed your blog and it feels so nice to see this post.

Lots of love and lots of hugs to the baby :)

Just saw the comments you left on my blog about using the Moby wrap. Sorry I got back to you this late.

First, I love your writing. I hope to come back soon and read more of your blog, when time allows.

I used my Moby wrap for a short period - from when my baby was a month old to maybe when he was three months. The best time was when he was still a newborn, and I would wrap him upright, facing in toward me. He would fall asleep like that, while I walked around. It was very cosy then. He was always too big to be in cradle hold, and at around three months, the snugness was too much for him. He wanted to wiggle around and be free. Since then I've been just carrying him around in my arms. Bad for my back, but otherwise great exercise.

I'm probably getting back too late to help with the Moby wrap issue, but drop me a comment if you have questions.

You write in a way that is pulling me to read and read. Life has been a real crazy rollercoaster for you, and the years of pain and feelings your little one embodies and morphs into love must be a great, great feeling.

Congratulations from a stranger and a well-wisher! Enjoy your every moment with him/her, am sure your kid will grow up to find a lot of inspiration in his/her mom!! :)
